Childline is a free 24-hour counselling service for children and young people up to their 19th birthday in the United Kingdom. The service is provided by the NSPCC and now provide access to BSL counselling.
I can’t imagine how difficult it must be – and how brave any child is – to make the decision to ask for help from people they don’t know but for d/Deaf kids with extra communication barriers, it must be even harder . So how great and appropriate it is that Childline now provides this additional support for d/Deaf vulnerable young people.
This new service is a huge step in the right direction and hopefully the kids will benefit from Childline’s expertise.
